ALDI ‘THE PANTRY’ SWEETENER

Case study

About

We had a customer approach us looking for a way to introduce plastic-free innovation into their pre-existing blister card for Aldi’s ‘The Pantry’ Sweetener tablets. Tackled by our creative design and production teams the outcome of this project was a high-quality, cost effective and innovative solution for the customer.

Objective

Develop a sustainable, machine-erected, plastic-free, packaging solution for an automated packing line.

Approach

Our Constructional Design Team focused on materials, engineering, and processes to address this challenge. Collaboration with the customer involved presenting various options and supporting trials to ensure the carton's fitness for automated operation.

Key Feature

To maintain product identity during the transition from blister pack to carton, the selected carton incorporates a complex internal fitment. This design guarantees visibility of the dispenser from side to side and top to bottom within the carton aperture.

Challanges

Meeting the specific requirements posed substantial challenges for our gluing team. The design underwent multiple revisions before achieving a carton that consistently performed on the customer's automated packing line.

Technology

The Koenig & Bauer Rapida 106 printing press played a crucial role, providing high-speed color accuracy and consistency essential for the project's success.
